These charts were made from a new YouGov Poll -- done between April 11th and 13th of a random national sample of 1,000 adults, with a margin of error of about 4 points. And that poll has to be troubling to all of the Republican hopefuls.
It turns out that a whopping 64% of the public thinks it is very likely that our next president will be Hillary Clinton. And the charts below give us a clue as to why they think that. A significant majority of Americans have a pretty high opinion of Clinton.
About 58% say she is qualified to be president, while 65% say she has strong leadership abilities, and 60% say she is as honest (or more honest) than other public officials. As long as a majority of the public holds those opinions about Clinton, it is going to be very hard for any of the extremist Republicans to run a credible race in 2016.
