Mornings Are the Time to Fight

By Cass
Hi all,
Learning when to fight is one of the things that makes any warrior succeed and for me it is the mornings that I struggle with the most. Some of it is the pain in my joints, soles of my feet and hands. Some of it is the brain fog that doesn't let me do things my way.
Mornings are the time to fight
How ever it happens, the mornings are the time that I most want to give up! Not that I will of course.
There are so many everyday things that I have to consider differently!
Never has a statement been more true. Take this morning as an example, I got into the bathroom and completely forgot how to work the shower. Now that may make you chuckle and it does me looking back, but equally it's not easy to understand how I can't remember to do that.
Then there are timings.....

I have to time everything, I mean every little thing that I have to do including washing, dressing and having the obligatory cup of tea. I have to time these things to make sure that I have allowed myself the right amount of time to function correctly.

Mornings are the time to fightI am no longer the care free person who could roll out of bed and roll into work. I have to get up an hour earlier than I should to make sure I am awake enough to circumnavigate the train, the walking, make sure my bags packed etc. This makes me sad sometimes. I wish I could function in the same manner as everyone else in the mornings! I wish I could wake up and feel refreshed, I wish I could wake up and feel no pain. However I can't and so I have to think differently.Knowing that I need a morning routine...Routine is how I live, but that can make it especially dull. I would love to be able to set an alarm for an hour before the commute, maybe some mornings I have a drink before a shower, others I simply do things out of order without panicking! I have to stick to my routine for two reasons. Firstly it is well practised so I know exactly what I am doing and when this helps with the dreaded brain fog. Secondly it's the ONLY way I can avoid making the pain worse. How do you deal with the tough times in your day?
