makhani recipe using green gram


Ingredients

  • green gram/moong dal/pasi payaru - 1 cup soaked overnight
  • Tomato puree - 1 cup
  • red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon
  • kasuri methi - 1 teaspoon
  • butter - 2 teaspoon
  • fresh cream- 1 tablespoon
  • salt - to taste
  • cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Instructions
  1. pressure cook the soaked moong dal with enough water for upto 3 whistles.Drain the water and set aside.
  2. Heat butter in the kadai,add cumin seeds to it once it starts melting.Then add the ginger garlic paste and saute it till the raw smell leaves.
  3. Now add the tomato puree and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Now add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,cumin powder,garam masala and add little water to it.
  5. Mix it well and add salt in this stage along with cooked moong dal and give a quick mix.Add water if required.cook it for another 5 minutes.
  6. Now add the fresh cream and flame should be low while adding the cream here.mix it well and cover with lid and cook it again for another 2 minutes.
  7. finally add crushed kasuri methi then switch off the flame.
  8. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve.
