MOOBERRY (Neutral Bay)

By Takeeatfoodblog
During my daily check of my emails I stumbled across an email titled 'You're invited to a complimentary sampling of chocolate heaven!' My first thoughts was "is this spam....?" but curiosity got the better of me and opened it to reveal a sweet invitation to Mooberry in Neutral Bay :) (I'm glad I didn't click trash :P)
My first thoughts associated with Mooberry is frozen yoghurt aka. FROYO- my absolute favorite dessert in the whole entire world... yes yes I'm a froyo addict :P Little did I know that Mooberry offers so much more than just froyo, they have a decadent selection of sweets like waffles, churros, souffle and the list goes on! Since opening in famous King St, Newtown, Mooberry have recently celebrated the launch of our third independently owned store in Neutral Bay which was sponsored by Porsche and Patron Tequila amongst others. I think the unique thing about Mooberry is that it offers breakfast/ savoury food, think of it more as a cafe than a frozen yoghurt/ dessert bar. John and Janine are the owners of Mooberry and they have definitely come up with a fantastic concept and taking a modern spin on the what the traditional frozen yoghurt companies offer. They were nice enough to invite me to a complimentary tasting, also allowing me to bring a friend along!

The drive to Neutral Bay from where I live was roughly around half an hr- 45 minutes, with traffic, luckily I had my friend who was my trusty gps! It really is not difficult to get there at all since it is located on the main road (Military Rd). There is also a lot of parking behind the store, off the main road.

We booked in our tasting time for 7pm on Monday night, the store was a bit quiet when we arrived but it slowly got busier and busier throughout the night. We were greeted by a friendly staff and the store manager, Jamie. He explained a bit about what we were to sample and the different flavours of froyo and toppings. The store has three levels, so there is ample space even during peak hour seasons like on the weekend.

Salted caramel w/ coconut flakes and maltesers
If you know me well you would know that I love salted caramel anything! So once I saw that salted caramel was one of the frozen yoghurt flavours I knew I had to try it. The salted caramel flavor was very subtle, it tasted more just like caramel, there wasn't much saltiness to it. It went really well with the maltesers, I think any chocolate topping will go well with the salted caramel flavor.

Passionfruit w/ coconut flakes, mango and mochi
The passionfruit frozen yoghurt was very refreshing and light, especially compared to the salted caramel which was a bit heavier and sweeter. The passionfruit froyo goes really well with any fruit toppings like mango, which we got but it is not mango season so the mangoes were a little bit sour. Jamie told us that the passionfruit frozen yoghurt was the most popular and it was on the easier flavours to make. I definitely understand why it is a crowd pleaser, it is a must try flavour!

Hot chocolate
The hot chocolate was extremely creamy and was not too sweet. It had a very light and smooth texture. I really enjoyed this hot beverage especially since it was so cold outside! I would definitely recommend this during a cold night or even a hot day would be ok :P

Salted caramel
The salted caramel was a very unique flavour, once again the salted caramel flavouring was very subtle. It was quite sweet compared to the hot chocolate but nonetheless it was a nice drink during the cold weather.

Wicked waffles | Belgian waffles, frozen yoghurt, strawberry and banana drizzled with Belgian chocolate
Max Brenner was always the King of waffles for me but I think now they have serious contenders! Step aside Max B, Mooberry's Wicked Waffles is seriously... wicked! :P The amount of chocolate drizzled onto the waffles was plentiful, I don't think it was a drizzle it was more like a scoop full but hey I'm not complaining! The waffles were crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The chocolate frozen yoghurt went really well with the waffles. This dish is definitely for all the chocolate lovers out there! It was a serious chocolate overload. This dish is best to be shared with friends because it might be a bit heavy to be consumed by yourself :P
Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Overall, I am really happy with the experience at Mooberry and they have now made it onto one my top desserts places! The servings are extremely generous and the quality of each element of the dessert is made with care and of the highest quality. I definitely will be back to try out their breakfast menu and other desserts! :)

I wish Mooberry Neutral Bay all the best, I know that your future will be a bright one! :)

A big thank you to Mooberry for the complimentary tasting.

Happy eating x
