Monkey Bread with Kenzie

By Courtyb34 @CourtyB34

I don't know how long I have been wanting to make Monkey Bread. I finally did on Friday night with my best friend, Kenzie. It was actually easier than I thought it would be! And the results were delicious. I found the recipe for Monkey Bread on pinterest. Thank goodness for Pinterest! Finding anything to everything on that website. I like it to find blog projects/ideas and gift ideas. We are nearing the Christmas season. It is two months away. I better start preparing for it now. The recipe is from Pillsbury.com. Grands! Monkey Bread

What you will need for this recipe:

~2 cup granulated sugar
~2 teaspoons cinnamon
~2 cans (16.3 oz each) Pillsbury® Grands!®
   Homestyle refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
~1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
~3/4 cup of melted butter

First, before you start anything, get out a bundt cake pan and lightly grease it. Then preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Next, take the Pillsbury Grands and separate them on a cutting board, then cut them into quarters.

After all of them are cut up, get out a large plastic bag and put the sugar and cinnamon in the bag and shake it up. Add in the cut up biscuits and shake up the bag. They won't stick together. You also might need to add a little bit more sugar and cinnamon so that it covers all the biscuits.  Kenzie and I had fun shaking up the biscuits. We hopping around in her kitchen, hugging the bag of biscuits and sugar.

It was great. Once all the biscuits are covered in the cinnamon and sugar mix, set it aside and begin on the glaze. Melt 3/4 cup of butter. I used Tillamook unsalted butter. Unsalted butter always works best. In a small mixing bowl, mix together the brown sugar and the butter. It will turn into a paste.

Now, set the butter and brown sugar aside. Take the greased pan and the covered biscuit bits and stack them in the bundt cake pan.

Next, drizzle the brown sugar and butter mixture over the sugar covered biscuit bits. I spread mine over the biscuits, because just drizzling it over didn't seem like it would cover it all. Keep it in mind that this brown and sugar butter mixture will melt down into the stacked biscuits, so once it is done baking and cooled off, when you flip it over, it might be a wee bit messy.

After you put the brown sugar and butter mixture over the biscuit pieces, Bake them for 28 minutes, and let them cool off in the pan for 10 minutes.  Once they have cooled off, flip the pan over and take the monkey bread out of the pan. And bon appetit!

The monkey bread was delicious! And spending time with my best friend made the night even better! Sorry some of the pictures were kind of dark, I was using my camera for the first time in a long time. I am so used to just using my phone and having the light be perfect. But with my camera, I have to constantly change the light settings. Not a problem though. I had a lot of fun making these and I was really happy with the turn out!  They were so delicious!  Wow! I haven't done a baking recipe on here in a while! I forgot how much fun baking was!  I need to definitely bake more. It is getting into the Christmas and wintery season. Lots of baking and cooking. Lots more days off, so lots more blogging! :) Have a great Sunday my beautiful readers!
