A couple of years ago magnetic nails were all the rage so I decided that for todays Monday Manicure I would take a trip back in time and revisit the trend. I know recently that a whole host of textured polishes have come out but none of them have really done it for me (I think they look a bit like you have fabric imprints where you didn't wait for your nails to dry!) so I thought that I would show you the one that set off the whole trend, how it looks on and a mini review.
The finish of these polishes is gorgeous, they are very shiny and the waves come out very strongly, but also have the possibility of being more subtle if you don't hold the magnet on for so long. In the jar it looks a very gun-metal grey, once on the nails and after the magnet has been applied you get stripes of it fading into black.
To apply I use one thin coat as a base on all the fingers and then one by one apply a thicker coat and then hold the magnet over the top for 20 seconds. The process has to be done pretty quickly as the nail polish dries pretty quickly (not such a bad thing!) so it may take a little while to get used to it and get the results. I know for me it certainly did! After that, I seal it all in with a top coat and voilà, beautiful nails.
