Mizon Returning Starfish Cream Review

By Urhappybunnie @joaniebunnie
Hello lovely readers! I'm here with a review today and it's for one of the skin care products included in my BNT Beauty Box... it's the Mizon Returning Starfish Cream!
First and foremost, this is hands down the prettiest product packaging I have in my beauty collection. The box packaging is so cute and the jar inside is of similar design. It's in this rose gold jar with a very colorful starfish design embossed on the top lid with the product name.

I love how the packaging comes with English product ingredients, descriptions and directions. So according to the description, it is a "highly functional cream containing starfish extract." When I was researching more on this product, I came across this photo which is very informative and gives a thorough product description. (Click on the photo to expand)

To sum it all up, it is a product with 5 major effects on the skin representing the 5 arms of the starfish or the "star zone." These effects are: Wrinkle Care, Whitening, Firming, Moisturizing and Skin Recovery. Because of the starfish's ability to regenerate, it helps the skin recover. Also, starfish is made up of water, calcium and proteins such as collagen that will help the skin become firmer and more elastic.
What's even more amazing with the Returning Starfish Cream is that it has a "shape memory formula" which allows the product to go back to having a flat surface even after making a dent or a hole in it.

Strangely enough, even if this product is majorly made of starfish extract it smells faintly floral and has a lot of flower and plant extracts too! It is very pleasant to the nose and not over powering at all.
This product has a jelly/pudding-like texture that is bouncy and little bit difficult to scoop out but it comes with a nifty spatula that is really helpful and convenient in scooping out product. The spatula also helps take out just the right amount of product to cover the entire face. A little goes a long way with this cream and even if it's texture is more solid than most moisturizers, once applied on the skin it feels light, clear and almost watery. Its similar to the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream which I have been using as a night time moisturizer until recently (I stopped using it when I started getting more skin care products to try out) though the Cetaphil one is thicker and creamier.
This product is moisturizing and firming indeed but I don't think it is as good as the Verikos Collagen Tightening Cream that I have recently reviewed. It's a close second though. It feels nice on the skin - light and not greasy at all. I personally don't feel like it is the best night time moisturizer but it is a great one for day time. I have been using this underneath my makeup for the past week and all is good. It didn't make my face oily throughout the day nor was my face dry. My makeup has been lasting a little while longer too with this underneath and without a primer.
I've mentioned this on Twitter and Instagram, but my skin hasn't been all that good because my allergies broke out and I had some nasty red bumps on my face and I have been using the three products religiously for the past week that made a huge difference and this is one of them. It has made my face recover faster than it normally does.
Moisturizing, Firming, Skin Recovery - check. Wrinkle Care and Whitening - I haven't seen any results yet.
Overall, this is a really good moisturizer. I really like the way it feels on my skin upon application and it's been my go to daytime moisturizer as of late.
I've seen this product retail online in different shops like Gmarket, Sasa, Amazon and eBay and the price ranges from $17-30. It is a 60ml jar of product and I think the price is pretty fair.
