Minnie in Marseille

By Winyeemichelle
Hel-LO Friday!
It’s been… quite a week for us here in England. A terror attack in the city of Manchester truly devastated the country and the world in ways I didn’t think were possible. I can’t help but constantly grieve the broken world that we continue to live in and yet also can’t help but decide that the good thing to do is to continue on. Continue our everyday and take the good with the bad, be a seeker of everyday magic and, in that itself, fight the terrors that this handful of people are dead-set on spreading. Be kind and gentle, and always fight for the good.

Bonjour Marseille!

These photos were shot in Marseille when the girls and I - Elodie, Hannah, Sarah and Sophie (give them a follow!) took a day trip there last week. I don’t think I actually got around to writing about my trip to the South of France before it happened but we headed there for a weekend to visit Elodie and explore her neck of the woods.
Marseille is notoriously not everybody’s favorite French city. It’s touted dangerous, dirty and other such descriptors but we had the time of our lives exploring the pastel paths and artisan boutiques. I shared a mini city guide yesterday, if you’re interested in having a read.
I was especially taken by the Old Port: we caught a glimpse of it as we wandered down from the old quarters of the city and it was just breathtaking, glittering waters and the Notre Dame du Mont and all. For the occasion, I dressed simply in my faithful Zara jeans with the rose embroidery patch, tan sliders (New Look!) and… the Minnie blouse!

Meet Minnie

The Minnie is the newest addition at Honey + Chai, my online clothing business. Carefully designed with unstructured layers of dotted tulle and with delicate floral embroidery, it encapsulates all of the best parts of an incoming summer. The delicate ruffle sleeves and smock shape make it super comfy and floaty, pretty ideal for this sudden heat in England at the moment. It’s currently available in white, as the black version sold out last night!

('Minnie' top, Honey + Chai;
Jeans, Zara,
Tan criss-cross sliders, New Look;
Anello canvas backpack.)
