Migration in the southwest on 4-26-2012

Regional overview at 0400 on 4-26-2012.

REGIONAL OVERVIEW

A big storm system was moving into California this morning, which did not allow for much migration on the coast. Inland Arizona had moderate migration through much of the night.

ARIZONA

The LCRV showed light to moderate migration through much of the night, but bird activity stalled after 0400. With the storm moving into the coast of California, I would expect there to be a few coastal migrants inland today along the river. Lakes and sewage treatment plants should probably be checked for migrant shorebirds and off course waterfowl. Central and southeast Arizona showed the heaviest migration off all places in the desert southwest last night with birds moving the majority of the night.

I apologize for the late post this morning as I am on the east coast for the weekend visiting with my fiancee, friends, and family. Also, I am going to be birding each morning if I can catch up on sleep. I will have the Yuma, AZ Radar back in action soon as well.
