MY REVIEW
4 STARS

This book was quite different from what I was expecting but I was pleased overall with the story.  I loved the setting.  Stories that take place in Alaska are always a draw for me and this one did not disappoint.  I was expecting a story about a werewolf pack in Alaska but there was just so much more.

Solina goes to Alaska to find out what happened to her twin brother, and to avenge his gruesome death.  The police investigation has gone nowhere and everyone, including her parents, wants to put the nasty business of Mani’s demise behind them.  Solina is not about to accept that reasoning and becomes quite obnoxious in her quest to find out the truth.  Her brother’s best friend Val tries to protect her, but ends up causing more confusion for her as he attempts unsuccessfully to throttle her investigation.  As Solina gets closer to discovering the truth, someone tries to kill her and almost succeeds.  At this point, the book takes a major turn as other supporting characters turn out to be more than they appear. Yet more characters are introduced who want to destroy Solina and her friends in order to bring the downfall of humanity, and usher in a new age.  An epic battle looms.I enjoyed this twisty, convoluted story, and loved the way in which it kept getting bigger in scale and scope.  I do feel the conclusion was too abrupt, and  I disliked that several unresolved issues were left dangling.  I am, however, looking forward to reading the next installment in this series.I received this book through the Juniper Grove Review Library in exchange for an honest review.
