Media for the Middle of Your Week: Flashback Edition

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

When this show first started I was in middle school, so not exactly a show I grew up with (or one that would have been remotely appropriate at the time).  But now that I’m a 20-something I saw this show on HBOGo and thought…why not?

I’m sure all of you have, at the very least, heard of Sex and the City, but having only heard other people talk about it I didn’t expect it to be so funny.  While it isn’t one of my favorite tv shows, it’s turned out to be fantastic to have in the background while I’m reading dense grad school articles.  And it helps keep the mood light.

Now, before you all run off to stream your own guilty pleasures let me just say what a great and terrible gift the ability to stream things is.  In my household we have, combined, access to Netflix, hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, and HBOGo.  Which means access to almost any show ever, anytime.

This is awesome because I love tv and movies.  I like catching up on shows, revisiting my favorites and discovering new ones.  And I don’t just sit around and watch tv all day (I swear).  I can’t work in silence, and having shows on in the background helps me concentrate on my work.  I also stitch while I watch movies.  That being said, the sheer number of things I want to watch at my finger tips is a little intimidating…between all the shows I want to watch and books I want to read…well, at least I know I’ll never be bored.
