Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation Review

By Urhappybunnie @joaniebunnie
So Maybelline came out with a new Fit Me foundation, this time it's for a matte and poreless finish unlike the original Fit Me foundation which is dewy and natural. I actually really like the original Fit Me foundation and I've gone through 2 bottles already. it's one of my favorite drugstore foundations along with the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation.

The thing I really like about the original Fit Me foundation was that it was light and natural looking. The Matte + Poreless foundation isn't really all that different from the original one except for the obvious difference in finish.
For a person with dry skin, I actually quite like this foundation. Even if it's matte it's not too drying on the skin. It is recommended for normal to oily skin types but I have a feeeling that if you are extremely oily and you use this, it will only control your oils for a few hours of wear. I have to reiterate that this foundation is not long lasting. It will look as good as you first applied it after a maximum of 4 hours. You can definitely extend it's wear by applying powder on top of it. This foundation actually has a powder that accompanies it so maybe you can try that out too!

Above is a comparison of swatches for the Fit Me Original and the Fit Me Matte. They are both in shades 220 Natural Beige. I have set my hand on an angle when I took this photo and as you can see, the Fit Me Original is sliding down while the Fit Me matte is still on it's place. The Fit Me Original is very liquidy and the Matte has a slightly mousse texture.

In the before and after photos above, you can clearly see how natural looking the Fit Me Matte is. It is definitely a light coverage foundation since you can still see my real skin peeking through. It evens out my skin; gets rid of my redness and makes my under eye circles look better. Slight hyperpigmentations are also covered.
The Fit Me Matte actually reminds me of the NARS Sheer Matte Foundation that I've tried over the summer, but since I'm a cheapo and I always like finding drugstore dupes especially when it comes to foundations for everyday use. I haven't found any drugstore equivalent of the NARS Sheer Matte until this Fit Me Matte. Come to think of it, the Fit Me Original was actually a drugstore dupe for the NARS Sheer Glow as well!

Pros:
  • Good for normal to oily skin
  • Gives a matte and natural look
  • Flawless and poreless finish
  • Controls oil

Cons:
  • Not long lasting (maximum wear is 4 hours)
  • Transfers on clothes

For $7-8 in the drugstore I think this is really worth it. I had a phase where I really like dewy finishes but as of late I have really been liking the matte look. If you have dry skin like me, and you're worried that this would dry you out or would enhance your dry patches, you can still wear this foundation. Just make sure too exfoliate and moisturize before application.
