Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara

By Bbeautylove @bbeautylove

A new year means a new mascara release and you know I am up for that, especially when it comes from one of my favourite brands Max Factor. A mascara that promises volume, definition and no clumps sounds far too good to be true, right?

Wrong!

The latest release from Max Factor promises big things and delivers on every one. As soon as CoverGirl came out with their Clump Crusher mascara in the USA I knew MF would come up with something similar for us UK dwellers and this is it.

The Clump Defy mascara* is basically a modified version of their amazing False Lash Effect brush. This time around it is thinner, curved and has tight, evenly spaced bristles to eliminate clumps. I love the original False Lash Effect, but the brush is very chunky and doesn’t always work for people with very short lashes. The brush can get overloaded with product and produce the odd clump, but there is no chance of that happening with this new version. The wand comes out with no excess product and I never once came across a clump. You can even load up the product with a couple of coats and still no clumps or spider-lashes in sight.

The brush coats every lash evenly (even lower lashes) and it instantly lifts, lengthens and adds volume to even the shortest ones. I found it also slightly curled mine too but if you use eyelash curlers, this mascara will hold them in place all day.

The staying power of this is amazing. All day with no smudges, no flakiness and no drop, my lashes look as fresh at 6pm as they did at 8am so I am really impressed. Although not water proof, it doesn’t disintegrate at the first hint of water (I tried it in the shower) and it removes very easily without the need for harsh rubbing.

I love the colour of the packaging and the price point is really good too, as the quality of the product is outstanding.

I really love this mascara, it is my new favourite and reminds me a lot of another favourite of mine, the GOSH Catchy Eyes mascara (see post), which has a similar wand but doesn’t give as much volume.

All in all, another great addition to the Max Factor mascara family and another hit with me!
