Happy Sunday! A couple of months back, I was invited to the Mary Kay Fairytales and Fantasy product launch held at Ludlow Bar & Dining Room, Southbank. The atmosphere on the day was very relaxed. We spent the day learning about Mary Kay and talked all things beauty.
The Fairytales and Fantasy Collection comes in 4 smoke and shimmer eye wands, 2 glossy lip stains, 2 kohl eyeliners and 2 nail lacquers. I was also lucky enough to have been given a set to try at home.
Mary Kay Smoke & Shimmer Eye Wand comes in four shades – Blue Knight, Amethyst Smoke, Enchanted Mauve and Golden Illusion. When I first saw these Shimmer Eye Wands I thought they would be quite pigmented in color and I was a little worried it might be too out-there for me. When I was swatching these eye wants, they were fairly sheer. Because of the sheerness, they would be perfect for work. The sticks glides onto the eye quite easily without any tugging. One thing I did noticed was that when you apply it on there is this cooling sensation, it felt kind of weird at the start but after a few seconds it disappears. These are priced at $22 each. so not too bad.
Mary Kay Kohl Eyeliner comes in two shades - Blue Knight & Mulberry Forest. These eyeliners are quite nifty, you have a sharpener and smudger attached at the end of the eyeliner. Both colours are great and suits me well. I found that Mulberry Forest had a drier formula compared to Blue Knight. These are priced at $18 each.
Mary Kay Glossy Lip Stain comes in two shades – Enchanted Mauve and Mulberry Forest. These lip glosses have good pigmentation and you get the most staining from Mulberry Forest due to the deep berry shade. These lip glosses are perfect for autumn or winter. The gloss is slightly sticky but it does feel quite comfortable on. One thing I really liked about this lip gloss is the brush on the wand, this allows for a more accurate application. These are available for $24 each.
Mary Kay Nail Lacquer available in 2 shades - Enchanted Mauve and Mulberry Forest. These are my favorite from the collection. The nail polish applies on smoothly and dries fast. Mulberry Forest forest was opaque within one coat while Enchanted Mauve took 2 coats to become opaque. The nail polish retails for $15 each.
Overall, a good collection to have. My most liked items in the collection are the nail polish and the Blue Knight eye liner. Mary Kay can be purchased through a consultant or online.
