Designed by British born Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig who named their Collection after the Italian Socialite Marchesa Luisa Casati! Lady Marchesa was a women who lead a very eccentric lifestyle, known for strolling around wearing nothing more than a fur coat and a snake as jewelry. Marchesa was very supportive of the arts and fashion when she was alive. I think it only befitting that her namesake has become a Couture Label.
