*Making Your House a Home

By Ourbabyblog @OurBabyBlogx
You all know I have a love for photography, crafts and motherhood among many things, but one of my favorite things is interior design, anything from furniture to the actual building of a house..I love grand designs and any programme to do with home makeovers! I think my love started when I was younger and The Sims came out, I was addicted! Building my own house, choosing the wallpapers, furniture, lighting, decorations etc, I even created my own bits using photoshop! I'm quite a creative person and loved to experiment with different styles!
It got me thinking, what can we do to our home to make it that extra bit special...maybe your home needs a bit if tic and you can't afford to move? Try transforming what you already have, if you own your house and spend that extra but of money making it into that wow factor, when it does come time for you to sell up, you'll be rewarded with the monetary difference, yes it will be hard work but no-one said it was easy! :)
Some cost effective ways to help can be the following...

*Making your house a home
Bi-folding doors
A fantastic way to create space & light for your home, they are especially useful for smaller spaces, such as laundry rooms, closets or cupboards, but can also be used on exterior applications, such as leading out to the garden to create that airy & french door style!

The style of doors can be chosen to match the ambience of your home, whether it be modern, retro or classic – the doors should carry the style throughout and create more space than ever thought possible!

Probably the most popular way to extend your property, a light Nd airy area you can use as a dining room, sitting room, any goon you want really, the prices Re actually quite god nowadays, my advice for this would be to consider the size if your garden
Bring in a decorator
Go neutral or maybe add a feature wall somewhere, a lock if paint really can change not just the look of a room but the feel of it too! If you're confident enough to do it yourself then go for it, do some research first on what paint is best & how to properly apply wallpaper, it's not as simple as you may think!

Go accessory shoppingOne of my favorite things to do! Shabby chic is in right now and boy dies the retail world know it! Everything from straw butterflies, white flowery curb set units and bird cages are the rage right now and really add that sir isl personal touch to your home! You don't have to spend a fortune, eBay and stay ate fab online stores with cute vintage stores...or if you're feeling crafty why not make your own? Using items already in your home? Be inventive! :) Hire a cleanerJust for  a one off major spring clean, we all know what it's like, if you've got kids or not, messiness inevitable, maybe you've had a long day week at work and just can't be bothered to wash up or spruce up the house, maybe it's just taken a backseat because whenever you tidy up, you know within the hour the kids will make it a mess again...call a local cleaning service to carry out a one off clean, you can go out for the day, e it at work or some retail therapy..just let them work their magic, you'll come back to a sparkly clean home which will now be manageable if things do get a little messy again!
