After doing a huge clean out and organization of my makeup drawer and products I needed a few things and also got a few great items in my monthly beauty boxes. It has been over a year since I had cleaned out my makeup and I had some expired and never used products that were either trashed and given to someone who would use it!
A few gems I found:
- An eye shadow that was at least 6 years old. Opps.
- 3 shades of the same lipstick
- About 15 of those mini mascara samples, a few got saved for travel and the others went into a free bin at work
When you get rid of many thing you realize it’s time for some new products (so exciting!)
The new items I’ve been loving:
- L”Oreal Volume Filler Shampoo and Conditioner. With fine blonde hair I am always on a quest for the perfect product, right now I am LOVING this. Gives me great volume and doesn’t make my hair greasy. As much as I would love to not wash my hair everyday it’s just not an option. Hello fine blonde hair mixed with someone who works out hardcore.
- L’Oreal Densifying Gelee. Crazy made up words in the name but it’s awesome. A sprizt of my beloved Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray and a dime size amount of this gel and I go to work with my blowdryer. Loving this!
- Big Sexy Hair Flip it Over. This isn’t exactly cheap at $18 but it is much less than the Oribe Texture Sprat at $48 and it does almost as good of a job. I will add that if is really humid outside this is too much for my hair and makes it greasy but for normal days it gives amazing texture and volume.
- Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, the first one I got as a sample in Ipsy last month and I am loving it so much that I bought the full size. It smells heavenly and isn’t too dark for my very pale skin!
- Better Than Sex Mascara, crazy name but love it! I got a sample and the PR company is supposed to be sending me a full one too. Can’t wait.
- Chella Eyeliner pen. I have this in a navy blue and it’s great, goes on easily and I love the color. I got this in my Ipsy box a few months ago.
- NYX Radiant Powder. This was an Ulta impluse buy when they had buy one get one 50% off. And it just gives a nice glow and finish to my makeup.
- Philosophy Miracle Worker, I might call this the holy grail of moisturizers. I tend to have oily skin and this is enough moisture but not too heavy. I put this on at night and really wake up to soft skin!
- Last but not least, Smell Bent. This was in a Popsugar box I got to sample and it smells like the beach. I can’t get enough of the smell.
