Pop Chef Review

Want an edible creation or bouquet of fruit for your next party that will cost you much less than ordering it from a store? Try Pop Chef
Pop Chef is a new and fast way to make your very own edible creations using a cutting tool and quick pop of the Pop Chef tool.

I was sent a Pop Chef to review thanks to IdeaVillage.com. I thought it would be fun to make my own fruit bouquet to take to a party!

Pop Chef 10-piece Kit

The Pop Chef Kit comes with 10 pieces:
  • 3 piece Pop Chef tool
  • Skewers
  • 6 cutting shapes (circle, heart, flower, butterfly, sun, star)
I chose to use cantaloupe, watermelon, and pineapple as the fruits I would cut for the bouquet. The instructions say to use slices that are about 1" thick or thinner, so all of my fruit slices were about 1" thick. To use, you simply cut through the fruit and pop the top of your hand over the Pop Chef tool bulb to pop the food out.

Fruit cut using Pop Chef.

What I like about the Pop Chef:
  • It's fun to use.
  • The cutting tools cut right through the fruit easily.
  • It's easy to assemble and clean.
What I dislike:
  • Using your hand to pop the food out as the written instructions suggest doesn't work all of the time.
  • If you follow the instructions in the video here, the Pop Chef works better, but again, not all of the time.
To remedy the food not popping out, all you need to do is use the little stick tool to gently push the food out.
I've also learned to make sure that the shapes I cut out are complete. If there's one little tiny corner of the shape not filled in, the food will not pop out. The bulb needs the chamber to be full of air to be able to pop the food out.
Still, I had fun using the Pop Chef and made this fruit bouquet, which in terms of cost was way less than ordering a fruit bouquet elsewhere!

I also tried to use the Pop Chef to make sugar cookies.

I found that I had the same results when using the Pop Chef to cut out the cookies, but it was still fun to use it!
The Pop Chef is available for $10.99 at fine retailers everywhere. You can also find it here and on Amazon.
