Make Do and Mend. Take 1

By Emmielois @emmielois

Make do and mend. Take 1 A few weeks ago I found this dress in a local charity shop; I bought it because I just felt that it had a lot of potential, oh, and pink is supposed to be big next season. So, armed with my sewing machine, some threads, beads and needles, I got to work on giving it a new life.
Make do and mend. Take 1I had to get rid of the top to this pink ensemble. It just, well, eughh, no. It could not be saved.

Make do and mend. Take 1... I took it in so it fitted my waist. Make do and mend. Take 1
Make do and mend. Take 1... then made it shorter and put a zip in the back. Make do and mend. Take 1..added some lace to the hem.Make do and mend. Take 1...and beaded it. *Take note, you need to have the patience of a saint to sit and sew each bead on. Now, I'm not saying I actually have the patience of a saint...so for me, this was quite tedious!*
Make do and mend. Take 1...Finished! I did make the skirt shorter again, so the lace would fall just above my knees. But, I am quite chuffed with my little creation.  I will defiantly be doing an outfit post which includes this skirt very soon, maybe even tomorrow. (But if it isn't tomorrow, don't be mad!)  I did also buy another item from the same charity shop that I have customised, that post will also be up very soon! Hope you are now inspired to be creative.  Make do and mend.
