We're used to weddings having simple ceremony venues but going all out for the reception. So when I chanced upon Celia & Gene's wedding and saw their ceremony pictures, I was in awe of how majestic and grand the place was. This of course, stretched out to their reception. I am in love with the use of yellow as their color theme. Usually, yellow is associated with casual and whimsical events but who knew they would look amazing in an elegant setting. Aside from this bold choice of color, they also made use of black - something brides normally veer away from - as the entourage's ensemble and it complemented everyone and made them look really dressed up! Enjoy this truly elegant wedding and congratulations Celia & Gene!

What is the overall story for this album?
Our story is really about bringing two families together. We are meshing two cultures in a fun and thoughtful way. We wanted to incorporate all the fun that both our Jewish heritage has to offer, but also the groom's Russian upbringing. We were celebrating a joyous time, with all the people we love most in the world.
What inspired the wedding day outfits?
The Venue! The classic look of Severance Hall directed the formal tuxedos for the men, the long gowns for the women, and color scheme with blacks and gold details. The bride's dress was a little non-traditional and was also gold! The room was so lovely and warm, that white would have been too stark. The gold kept with the whole theme!
What was your favorite part of the day?
Walking down the aisle to a song that my future husband picked just for me. I knew he was thinking of the moment he told me he wanted that song to be a part of the wedding day. As soon as the band started singing the first line of the song, I couldn't wait to get to the end of the aisle!
Was there any Do it Yourself (DIY) projects? If so, can you describe them in detail?
The Livshin's spent hours collecting photos of Gene and Celia from each age (0-26) for each table. They were side by side pictures, until the couple met at age 22, then they became pictures together. Each seat had a favor card in front of. In honor of all of our guests we made a donation to The Leukemia Lymphoma society, in remembrance for Celia's sister, Lauren, and Gene's grandmother, Raisa.
What were the highlights from the ceremony & reception?
Rabbi reading the description of the Ketubah the couple picked out. We went with a more personalized message. The hora-it lasted for over 10 minutes. Everyone was on the dance floor! For the father-daughter dance, the band did a mash-up of the three songs that the bride andFOB had previously danced to at other occasions.
Was there a theme for the ceremony and reception?
The theme was classic elegance, using warm colors to accent the rooms beauty and not try to compete with it. We went with a color theme of yellow and gold, using lemon as details. We warmed up the room with white roses. We incorporated lemons, because of the grooms love for citrus.

What part of the ceremonies do you think was the most memorable for the bride and groom?
The most memorable part was that even under the chuppah, with all the attention, we were still laughing at each other. We stumbled over our vows and it didn't matter. It was pressure free and relaxed, exactly how we wanted it!
