Lancome has to be one of most well known beauty brands in the world and for the past few weeks, I’ve been putting some of their best selling beauty products to the test thanks to Activeskin!
The Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara is a great choice for those looking for a mascara that they can rely on. The mascara comes with a triangular shaped wand which allows you to coat very lash, even those stubborn, hard to reach inner corner lashes with ease. The formula itself has a lovely floral fragrance and while I know not everyone is fond of scented mascaras, the scent didn’t irritate my eyes at all. Paired with the wand, I found this mascara fabulous at adding volume, length and definition, really giving you that doll eyes effect! What I loved most about this product is that while it is build-able, even just a coat or two gave my lashes amazing volume and length without the mascara smudging or flaking all day.
I’ve had the opportunity to try the Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector a couple of times now thanks to small sample bottles I’ve received in various beauty boxes, etc and each time I use it, I love it even more! The corrector has a gorgeous light but creamy feel to it and it works in beautifully on the skin, being absorbed immediately. Immediately, it leaves the skin soft and smooth with a ‘lit from within’ radiance which is perfect for those like me who suffer from dry skin that can often look dull. It adds a nice level of hydration to the skin but from using it, the biggest difference I have found that my skin’s texture looks and feel more even.
If you’re looking to gift a fragrance, you have to give the Lancome Tresor L’Eau De Parfum a test. The scent has the perfect light balance between a apricot like, floral scent without smelling sweet or overpowering. The scent has a classic touch to it which makes it a perfect choice for someone of any age and the perfume lends itself well to all four seasons because of its clean feel.
The Lancome DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector not only targets dark spots but it is also formulated to ‘reduce the appearance of blemishes, color imperfections and redness’. The serum comes in 3 variations depending on your skin tone and each is sightly tinted. I opted to use the scented corrector as a spot treatment as opposed to a serum to really try and see if it did lighten the appearance of darker spots/uneven skin tone. I was pleasantly surprised to see a small change after about 2-3 weeks of use (day and night) on some spots. One thing to note was that I found the formula to slightly split in the bottle (not sure if this was due to the hot weather, etc) but a good shake did get it back on track!
For those looking for an anti-aging product, the Lancome Renergie Multi-Lift Lifting Firming Anti Wrinkle Cream SPF 15 is a rich but easy to apply day cream that aims to tighter and firm skin. The lightly scented cream has a rich texture but once on the skin, it works in very nicely and is absorbed very quickly, leaving no sticky or oily residue on the skin. I found the cream to provide the skin with a nice level of hydration and over the weeks, it did leave my skin feeling fresher and more ‘awake’ even after a long day, as well as creating a great base for makeup application. With the added SPF, it also helps protect the skin from the sun during the day. Unfortunately I cant comment on the anti wrinkle side of things as I dont have any (yet!) but it was a lovely daily cream.
The Lancome Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner is one of the brand’s best sellers and I can see why! The liquid eyeliner comes with a precision foam tip that is sturdy but still quite flexible, helping you achieve the perfect swipe of eyeliner, whether you want a thin line to define or a thick wing. The formula of the liner which is housed in the ‘lid’ has a great consistency which makes it very easy to use and it dries to a intense matte finish. While I did find that I had to dip my brush into the formula a time or two, one applied, I was really happy with the intensity and sharpness of my winged liner look. The formula has amazing staying powder, even in the hot Summer heat as it did not budge for the whole day!
