LOCATION
Lugar Bonito Boracay is located in Station 1, along the main arterial road of the island. Sure, it’s not beachfront, but it has the advantage of accessibility and transportation—it’s easy to hail a tricycle or multicab headed for any point in the island or to walk to places like D’Mall. White Beach, thanks to an alleyway across, is just a minute away by foot.
STYLE/CHARACTER
Lugar Bonito Boracay goes heavily on design. It’s Greecian inspired, apparently mimicking the majestic architecture of Santorini on the coast of the Aegean Sea.
The quaint bed and breakfast only has six rooms, of which two each are standard, superior, and family. Each with a unique design, the rooms accommodate up to two, three, and four people, respectively. Family rooms may come with pullout beds for additional capacity.
ROOMS
The family room follows the design inspiration of the entire place, and its charm and Instagram-worthiness are enhanced by the random knickknacks placed on different spots.
It has the basic amenities that address traveler needs, starting with the five-star quality bed, which the owners obviously invested a lot on. The spotless bathroom is a little compact, yet it serves its purpose, nonetheless.
FOOD AND DRINK
Simple continental breakfasts are served on the rooftop, which has a spectacular view of the sea. Alternatively, they may serve breakfast in bed should the guest request.
SERVICE
Its friendly staff are at hand 24/7 to attend to requests and to keep the place secure. The manager, Ms. Chiqui, meanwhile, is hands-on, and she treats her guests as if she was welcoming them to her home.
VALUE FOR MONEY
Compared to other bed and breakfasts, rates at Lugar Bonito Boracay are somewhat pricier, but its high-quality beds and design, I believe, justify the cost.
