Lounge 189

By Rohit Dassani

Lounge 189 is part of the Inn @ Silicon Valley on Silk Board Junction. This is one of the newest roof-top restaurant in town. The ambiance is so lively, and you can see the whole city from here. There are different seating arrangements like the high chairs, sofas and normal tables. What makes this place so astounding is the fact that you can enjoy here with your friends and family while a DJ plays amazing numbers on an open roof-top.

If you plan to visit Lounge 189 then don’t forget to enjoy cocktails made by Rashid, a multi award-winning mixologist. We were totally taken aback after trying some of his creations and gave him all the liberty to make drinks as per his wish. And he didn’t disappoint at all! The drinks that came out from the bar were refreshing and totally new. The first cocktails was made with only fruits juices and each layer had different flavors. What an stunning drink!! The next one was made with spices and Tabasco sauce. A great drink for your digestive system, spicy and tangy at the same time. We even tried the Eye Closer shots. I couldn’t believe that the bottom layer was made with chocolate and honey. And just to make things more interesting you need to try the shots with your eye’s closed. Try it to believe!

After tried all those amazing drinks we were looking forward to the appetizers here. We had the Chilli Onion Rings, this is an in-house creation with an Indian twist. The Onion rings were topped with a light sprinkle of chili powder. Next, we tried the Cheese Fingers and the Jalapenos Nuggets. Both the starters had a lot of cheese and I loved it! The Jalapenos Nuggets had chopped jalapenos in the cheese which was then deep fried. These were served with the chili mayo. Stuffed Mushrooms came next, these crumble balls were deep fried with cheesy mushrooms inside. One bite and its bliss!

Lounge 189 is recently working on expanding its menu and we tried few items from the existing as well as the new menu. The Schezwan Baby Corn was curated with Baby-corn in Schezwan sauce with lots of garlic. Simple and good! The Schezwan Potatoes were the spicier version and once you start biting you won’t stop, as it is delectable. The Paneer Tikka had a charred flavor from the tandoor which made them perfect! The Dal Potato Kebab is a delicious surprise made with mashed potatoes and dal along with spices.

We literally had no room for another appetizer or main course. But we couldn’t resist to try their Mushroom Aglio-o-olio, a dish similar to the famous pasta but with mushrooms. This dish was made in olive oil and garlic with chili flakes and the mushrooms were spicy and succulent. We also had the Veg Biryani which is served with tomato gravy and raita. The tomato gravy was so-so, but the biryani was bursting with flavors. The raita is all we needed to finish it off. For desserts we had the house made Gulab Jamoon topped with dry fruits.
