Today I would be reviewing a whitening body lotion from Lotus which I have been using for past one month and thought to share its review with you all. So let’s move on to know whether it does whiten/lighten or not..

My Take on Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Hand and Body Lotion:

This is the second time I have bought this body lotion. I love it coz it has got SPF 25 in it and it does not feel heavy on application and moreover it has lightening properties which does help lighten the skin if used regularly.

The lotion comes in a white bottle with a pump dispenser. The packaging is very convenient, only thing is that it can’t be carried around as the bottle is too bulky! The consistency of the lotion is slightly on the thicker side but it spreads easily, doesn’t feel grumpy or heavy while spreading and absorbs within 5-6 seconds of rubbing! Most whitening lotions are difficult to spread and takes ages to absorb which is their biggest con if you are in a hurry in the morning but this one doesn’t take time to spread or absorb and leaves skin moisturized enough for summers.

It makes skin soft and supple, and does not feel heavy or greasy, now that’s what I like about it as I don’t like applying greasy lotions in summers, in fact I don’t like applying lotions in summers at all just because they feel too greasy and sweaty. This lotion doesn’t even make me sweat as it does not feel sticky though a little extra can make you sweat so apply it in adequate amounts just to get enough moisture and coverage from the sun.

As for the whitening and brightening claims, I definitely can see an instant brightening in my skin after applying this lotion, my skin looks a bit fairer than its natural skin tone which i like about it. And with regular use, it does help lighten the skin a few shades but that doesn’t happen in a fortnight or in 2-3 weeks, that requires patience and consistent use and of course enough protection from sun like wearing full sleeve clothes while moving out of the sun and applying this lotion 20 minutes before moving out. It prevents me from tanning and I have not seen much tan on my hands this summer due to the sun. It is a great lotion for summers but I don’t feel this would be good enough for the winters just that it doesn’t provide heavy moisturization though oily and normal skin types can use it all year round. I love using lotions that are whitening or lightening in nature and comes with SPF (enough SPF to prevent from sun) coz they provide 3 in one benefits- moisturizes, protects from sun and helps lighten with regular use (if not lighten, they prevent from future tanning).

• Keeps skin moisturized the whole day.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Hand and Body Lotion:

• Bulky packaging so the bottle is not travel friendly.
• Might not be a good option for winters.
