Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Review

product claims

I’m so disappointed. I couldn’t find any product claims for Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder ($12). But, from the name, I can assume the product will give a light, natural coverage. It should also go on as a liquid and dry as a powder.

does it really have a powder finish?

Ummm…not exactly. The finish is more of a velvet or satin finish. I really like the finish actually. It doesn’t look too powdery. The finish is very natural looking.

cute packaging! but not practical!

I was instantly drawn to Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder because of the cute packaging. It’s a real eye-pleaser. It reminds me of a cologne bottle. But! Here comes the but. The consistency of the foundation is very watery. So a pump dispenser or even a squeeze packaging would’ve been better.

how does it feel on!

When you first apply the foundation it feels a little weird. It feels a bit heavy or even oily at first. But it dries really quickly. Once it dries, it becomes super light and blends nicely into the skin.

it will reveal your flaws!

I highly suggest using a primer with this product. If you have any dry patches on your skin it will settle into it and make it more visible. Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder has a matte-like finish but I’d still recommend setting it with a powder and misting with a setting spray.

Not only that. This foundation doesn’t really help with controlling really oily skin. Using a primer and a setting powder and/or spray simply gives you some insurance.  Otherwise you may experience oil slicks in your t-zone within a couple of hours.

The verdict.

I would recommend Loreal Liquid Powder foundation. I really like it. The finish is nice. It has decent (low to medium with buildability) coverage. So if you have lots of scars and pigmentation, this will not cover them flawlessly.

The label suggest applying with fingers. I’ve applied with both my fingers and a brush – both are ok. But I think I prefer the brush better because I like applying makeup using a stippling motion.

I have the product in the shade Sun Beige (I’m NC42 in MAC Studio Fix).
