Looking Forward to Christmas?

By Ourbabyblog @OurBabyBlogx
Once summer draws to a close and Halloween is out of the way, we’re quickly on the run-up to Christmas. While it can feel like another year is over all too quickly and there’s a mad rush to get everything done before the big day, there are still loads of things to look forward to over the festive season.
While Christmas shopping is probably the most stressful part about Christmas, nothing beats the sense of accomplishment once it’s all done. To combat the frantic rush to the high street on weekends lots of people choose to start early, around mid-October, to avoid a last-minute rush.
On those occasions where you do have to hit the shops, meeting up with a group of friends is a great way to make the whole shopping experience more enjoyable and less like a stressful chore.
Novelty Christmas jumpers have made a comeback in recent years. What originated as a classically ugly Christmas present from a distant Aunt or elderly relative has since been revived into an ironic staple of the festive season.

Check out this novelty jumper that’s reminiscent of Colin Firth’s reindeer jumper in Bridget Jones’s Diary, over at Fancy Dress Ball.
After Christmas shopping, preparing Christmas dinner might be considered the second most stressful part of the festive season. But nothing beats the smell of seasonal veg and the stuffed bird cooking in the oven. If you want to avoid a frantic atmosphere in the kitchen Christmas morning, why not prepare as much of the meal as possible the night before? That way everything is pretty much ready to go straight in the oven.
Make a festive playlist to help get you into the Christmas spirit while you wrap presents, trim the tree and decorate the house. You can only get away with listening to Christmas music once a year, so make the most of it! Of course, you’ll want to include all the classics such as Band Aid’s Do They Know Its Christmas and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee as well as more modern hits and Christmas number ones!
What are you looking forward to this Christmas?
