Liquid Gold

With the arrival of Spring and the sun slowly peeping through the clouds in Melbourne, it was only fitting to do an edit of liquid gold products. Compiled are products for the hair, face and body so without further ado! 

Benefit sunbeam

To put it quite simply, this offering from Benefit is a bottle of liquid sunshine. With a nail-polish like applicator, I dab this on my cheekbones and blend with my fingers to give myself a lovely radiating highlight. It places the nicest subtle golden shimmer to your face in a way that is not overly glitterly but quite natural. I don't think you could ever really go overboard with this product but building it up slowly is the best way to go. Although I do prefer to use a highlighting powder, cos for me personally it's easier, I don't have any complaints about this product at all!
The Jojoba CompanyJojoba Oil*
Oils for me in general are fairly hit and miss. I am obsessed with cleansing oils, I enjoy moisturising body oils but with facial oils it's a very meh thing.  I do like them but they just don't cement themselves in my skincare routine as I don't think they do anything particularly amazing.  Currently there are countless types of face oils on the market and jojoba was one I hadn't tried so when offered the chance, I thought it was a great time to see if this one could be any different.   

When reading up on jojoba oil, it seems to be one of those oils you can use for almost everything on your body that can absorb it. On the packaging it says that it can moisturise skin, hair and nails which pretty much covers you from head to toe. I received the 30ml and I must say it is just so petite and cute - perfect for traveling. It is housed in a reallllyyy nice frosted glass container which I think makes it look a lot more expensive and feel a lot more sturdy. It has a pump (hollah) which I much prefer over the dropper and it just dispenses the right amount of product. 
Out of all the places, I most enjoy using this oil on my body. This is one of the thinnest oils I've tried and it just absorbs really nicely into the skin leaving it really soft and nourished. There is no business with sticky residue and it applies perfectly fine on wet and dry skin. On the face, I prefer mixing this with my moisturiser rather than applying it directly. Using this only at night, as I find it is a bit too much for daytime, this adds that extra bit of moisture to your skin. Whilst I do like the added hydration, I don't think it has done really anything else for my skin (although I have only used this for a month). My least favorite place to put this is on my hair. When I first applied it, I didn't mind it until I slept on it the next day and my hair just turned into a oily mess. I think this is the fact that I have really thin hair it just absorbed it so much that my hair ended up being really piece-y and weighed down. I think this could work a lot better with those with thick hair but unfortunately not for thin :(. To sum it up, yay for skin but nay for hair.

Moroccan Oil 
This has probably been mentioned/reviewed/featured so many times that I'm not going to go much into detail but I love this oil. It really makes my ends feel a lot more nourished and soft. I put two pumps into my hair and it seriously does not weigh it down at all or make it feel greasy. You must have this in your life! 

Toni&Guy Glamour Mousse Mousse is something I use whenever I want to do a natural beach wave look to my hair. Whenever I think about mousse, I think of crunchy, clumped hair but this is far from that. It styles my hair, giving it a nice hold for my curls without being sticky at all. The holding power of this is ok, not amazing but it does do the job. It has the traditional Ton&Guy smell and is very light and easy to work with. You do have to give it a really big shake before using this or else your ball of mousse comes out liquid-esque and not as thick and foamy.  Kerastase Sublime Cleansing Oil Shampoo*  At an RRP of $35-40, this is the most expensive shampoo I have ever tried. What sets it apart from other shampoos is that it contains four different oils - pracaxi for resistance, argan for protection, camelia for shine and maize for nutrition. Housed in a golden bottle, with a squeeze applicator the texture of this is not what I expected from the name. Rather than an "oil" it's more of a thick hardish gel. At this point you're probably thinking that it has lathering issues, but it actually doesn't! I've got medium-ish length hair and 50cent sized dollop is all I use to get a good lather. I've used this for a decent two months and to be honest, I haven't found any dramatic, life-changing results. I feel like my roots in particular are quite healthy but the results with the rest of my hair are similar to the normal shampoo I normally use (Joico). My hair does feel a little more healthier, a little more softer but I just can't justify the price. Maybe if this was paired with the matching conditioner or mask in the line it would've worked better to completely repair my hair, but I wouldn't be likely to repurchase it. I tried so hard to love you but it just didn't work :'(  Marc Jacobs Daisy

This was my first ever "real" perfume (who remembers Impulse sprays?) and it is just one of those scents that is a timeless classic. I love how fresh and floral this smells and can be worn all year round. When this first came out, I think the selling point of this was the adorable packaging. It's one of those dressing table perfumes and I really do adore it. I have the EDT version and the lasting power is obviously not as long lasting as EDP but it does do fairly alright.
