Lifestyle || 5 Cult TV Series to Binge Watch If You Haven’t Seen Them Already

By Clo Hutch @lashesoflife

We all know those days where binge-watching a television series is favoured over being vertical. Sometimes, it just happens! No guilt here. You need days like that too. So for the days you want to relax, put your feet up and , I thought I would share a few TV series with you that I have binge-watched and definitely recommend - or those which are top of my list through due to the hype and recommendations from friends...

Lifestyle || 5 cult TV series to binge watch if you haven’t seen them already These 5 TV series have become true classics and are all available on uk.chili.com , ready to be binge-watched!

Gossip Girl

This is one of my absolute fave easy-watching shows right now! I love having this on in the background and will happily watch several episodes each time.

Gossip Girl is a young adult drama show that yes, people of all ages can really get into. It is about the 'elite of Manhattan, New York', following the lives of teenage characters: Serena van der Woodsen (the 'it' girl on the show), Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald and Dan Humphrey. The fashion is very high-end and gorgeous , the lifestyle is extravagant, and the drama is endless. When a gossip site run by "Gossip Girl" starts to share private details of the lives of the characters and people continuously send in tips, the drama only escalates.

It is fun to guess who Gossip Girl is as you watch. But don't spoil it for yourself! I've been told it is worth the wait to figure it out.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead quickly went from a cult favourite to a mainstream favourite. It is one of the most watched shows on television, and for good reason! It has the zombie factor and all around brutal story of a zombie apocalypse, strong female characters, and ordinary people who cope and excel in seemingly impossible circumstances.

This is actually a family favourite as we all binge-watch this. My choice in tv show can vary so much! I've had to warn them a few times not to ruin it with spoilers if I'm behind, letting a few episodes pile up so I can watch them all in one session.

This show will get you hooked quickly, as you'll want to root on your favourite characters as they battle the walkers (zombies).

Game of Thrones

These days, it seems everyone I talk with is a fan of Game of Thrones, anxiously awaiting the final season. So now more than ever is the best time to binge watch the previous seasons to catch up before the release of the last one! And that is exactly what I plan to do...I've got a lot to fit in, I know.

The Game of Thrones TV series is an American fantasy drama created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, based off George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire book series, and is full of medieval drama. There are several plots, following alliances and conflicts among the noble dynasties fighting for or against the throne, and the Night's Watch, which is a brotherhood that defends the realm against creatures beyond The Wall and the threatening and impending winter.

There are kings, crowns, swords, dragons and ghosts. As well as cliffhangers that I've been told will leave your jaw hanging, wanting to quickly click to 'next episode'.

Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy is a long time favourite for many dedicated viewers, bringing it to its 15th season - some of my closest gal pals rave about this so much . It is an American romantic medical drama television series created by Shonda Rhimes, set at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital. One I need to get watching asap by the sounds of it...

I've been told it is all too easy to get attached to the characters, particularly the lead Meredith Grey. Apparently you'll want to keep watching to root them on in their personal and professional lives. Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang's friendship is said to be one with ups and downs but is truly one of pure support. And if you've heard of a 'McDreamy' and 'McSteamy', those are two other well-loved Grey's Anatomy characters!

I can't wait to get stuck in!

True Blood

I do love a vampire show - it's my guilty pleasure.

Based on The Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris , is a fantasy series about vampires who "come out of the coffin" and co-exist with humans in a small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana. With "TruBlood", a synthetic blood alternative, there is an extra twist on the typical vampire story, as the vampires don't to feed on humans. I've been told that the supernatural drama is plenty, and I'm dying to give it a watch.

There are also some not-so-subtle undertones in the show, containing messages about civil rights and gay rights too.

Which TV series have you binge watched and would include on this list?
