LG today unveiled its new flagship smartphone the LG V20. It is a successor the highly successful LG V10 that was released last year and was incredibly successful. Taking the cue from the success of V10, LG came up with the first phone that runs on Android Nougat out of the box that boasts a unique, sturdy design, a great camera, and audiophile-grade music playback.

The LG V20 will be available in three color options: titan (dark gray), silver, and pink. It is a high-end, high specced  5.7-inch smartphone with a secondary always-on screen located just above the main screen.

LG V20 Specifications

First things first, LG V20 isn’t a modular device like LG G5 which was a very gutsy and ambitious device from LG. However, it got mixed reviews. LG V20 carries the V10’s design language forward and has all the right ingredients for a 2016 flagship device. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, a 5.7 inches Quad HD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution (513 ppi pixel density), aluminum alloy frame and the all new Android Nougat out of the box.

V20 comes with a dual camera setup that pairs an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 16-megapixel standard sensor and a swappable 3,200mAh battery and is Quick Charge 3.0-compatible through its USB-C jack. The front camera on V20 is a 5 MP shooter. It’s smaller extra display comes with some nifty features and is brighter this time around. It comes with improved audio playback capabilities with the help of Bang & Olufsen.

The V20 will go on sale in South Korea from end-September, with other markets to follow.  While LG has not yet revealed the pricing yet V20’s success will be important for LG and the timing also seems to be perfect as its biggest competitor Samsung is going through rough waters due to Note 7 Recalls.
