This is what the path in our backyard to the hen house, in this New Hampshire’s March, looks like.
The snow is treacherously deep off to the sides and the path itself has melted and frozen so many times that you need to make sure your last life insurance payment was posted before you take the journey.
Regardless of the (feet of) snow and ice on the ground, we still have to feed the chickens and give them water. Every single day. It’s what you agree to do when you take on the responsibility of a flock.
But you don’t have to like it.
