Labor Day in the Mohawk Valley

By Lilveggiepatch @Lilveggiepatch

Last weekend, Brien and I drove upstate to spend a relaxing weekend with family. DSC00248.JPGDSC00253.JPG

It’s kind of crazy that the first time Brien and I went up there together, we’d only known each other for a few months, he was still “B,” and I’d only post photos that didn’t show his face! He was also still eating meat back then… look at this boy chow down on some good ole fashioned biscuits ’n gravy!

Now, he’s a member of the family, and we all eat breakfast in our PJs together. Time flies!

We drove to the county fair in Fonda, New York.

Walking through the barn was my favorite part. Aren’t the cows beautiful?

This little guy was only three days old when we met him!

One night, we all pitched in to put together a big summer feast. We had steamed lobster, grilled shrimp, grilled corn, bean salad, and cake!

The mosquitoes chowed down on us, but it was so lovely to dine outside.

One of the reasons we went upstate for the weekend was to attend Megan’s wedding! The ceremony was beautiful, and my favorite part was how happy she and her groom, Brian, clearly are. As she was walking down the aisle, she kept turning to the guests and smiling at everyone, as if she couldn’t believe the day had finally come.

The wedding was on the eve of her 30th birthday, so after she and Brian cut their wedding cake, she blew out her birthday candles. What a way to start a new decade!

Another perfect weekend for the books. This one should be wonderful, too, as today is Brien’s 31st birthday! I think September is going to be a fabulously wonderful month.
