La Table de Cybèle, 38, rue de Meudon in Boulogne-Billancourt 92 (Metro: Marcel Sembat or Billancourt), 01.46.21.75.90, has been open since July and and my charming ex-co-host on the food website that cannot be named, who with her companion, works at the OECD, has been suggesting we eat there since then, as she always needs convenient places that serve good food to refer visiting dignitaries to (never end a sentence with......yah.)  It's a bit of a schlep, especially for we denizens of the deepest 18th (1.15 minutes) but I felt we really needed to go to support the American "team."

I mean - after Daniel Rose's and Braden & Laura's successes, I've not been willing to go stand for an hour and a half for a burger at the Camion Qui Fume (despite Kristin Frederick's offer of a freebie, she didn't guarantee that I could cut the line) or go back to Mark Singer's second failed place.  No, we needed fresh blood - the Buvette G is next on the list.  So Cybèle Idelot's La Table de Cybèle offered a good option and 2 dishes are 24E, 3 = 29 E, which for us seemed most reasonable.

For firsts we had and shared (I'm lazy and have decided to give you their descriptions in French) - thus Les Lamelles de légumes de Joël Thiebault, Comté, noisettes; Gnocchis à la Ricotta, Velouté de Kabocha; and Poitrines de Porc croustillante et fondante, purée d’ail rose, Pommes, cresson.  All, in most restos today would be mains, especially the rondelles of porc.

For mains (and part of the reason I can convey this without having memorized it is that Madame Idelot has one great website) we had one Magret de Canard de la ferme de Luteau, Choux de Pontoise au beurre, carottes rondes; one Noix de Veau, (+3€) Choux au beurre de Pontoise, carottes, & Mousseline de charlottes; and 3 Cioppinos de Coques, Saint-Jacques et Haddock fumé. I wouldn't call them fabulous dishes, because I don't want her to get a swelled head, but they were among the "Best Of" I've ever had.

So for dessert, there was a "cheese-cake" a la Francaise and a dome of chocolate, both quite special.

The bill with two bottles of wine (some of which I schlepped home), 2 bottles of bubbly water made in house, quite good bread and 4 coffees, was 206.05 E, thus 82.42 E a couple.

Go?  Come on you Yankees, get off your duffs and support the home team even if it means taking the Metro 15 minutes more than you usually do.
