I have very very dry hair and very dry scalp too! And since 7-8 months, I’ve stopped using hair products with sls, parabens etc. It’s been hard to eliminate these stuff completely but I try to avoid as much as I can. Also, I got some serious scalp problem around November-December last year that I’ll share with you in another post. But for this problem, I underwent a sort of treatment and after that I was supposed to use their prescribed products or other chemical free products.

I wanted to try L’occitane hair products since quite a long time. But as we all know, they are super expensive :P  but I finally bought travel size bottles of the shampoo and conditioner last year before going to Chicago and I loved them! And also, by chance once I saw this coupon thingy on their US facebook page which had a coupon that you can redeem in any US store for a free set of travel size aromachologie repairing shampoo and conditioner. And ofcourse I got them :P

Initially I only used these occasionally because of the cost and I was so afraid to finish them and then buy them in dollars :P lol but around January this year, after my scalp problem I started using these regularly and here’s my review on these two products.

This range is the aromachologie reparinging range, which has 5 essential oils. The brand markets it as – A natural complex of 5 essential oils extracted from Angelica, Lavender, Geranium, Ylang-Ylang and Patchouli which work together in synergy to help repair, strengthen, regenerate and soften dry and damaged hair.
It contains Wheat Proteins which further smoothes and softens capillary fibers, giving your hair radiance and strength.

Its one of their best selling products!

Both of these come in very pretty plastic bottles which look like tinted glass. These are the US travel version and are 60ml each that I got free and the ones in India come in 75 ml bottles. They have small flip top openings. The bigger bottles(250ml) also have similar packaging. Then there’s another bigger size, 500ml, that come with pumps. Refills also come for this range.

The bottles are convenient to use, sometimes it’s hard to open the top in the shower as it shuts quite tight. As you can see in the pictures, there’s a main cap which has the flip top on top of it. Also, the cap is a screw on type cap and you can even open it for using; with my last bottle, I opened it and filled some water to use the shampoo to the last drop. :P miser student I am :P

The shampoo is a clear slightly runny gel like liquid. It cleans my hair very well. It doesn’t lather much so I tend to use more quantity of this when I’ve previously oiled my hair. But this takes out all the oil in 2 or maximum 3 rinses. It doesn’t dry out my hair at all. That’s what I like best about this. Most shampoos when used alone leave my hair feeling like straw :/ but even when I use this alone, my hair though isn’t moisturized enough but atleast it doesn’t look bad or extremely dry. I guess the natural oils in it maintain that balance!

The conditioner is not as thick as other conditioners. Its light and spreads very easily on my hair. It moisturizes my hair really well. But sometimes the frizz in my hair is still there(my hair is too frizzy). But it’s one of the best conditioners I have used and I definitely recommend it to everyone! It makes my hair feel really soft and also gives a soft bounce to my hair that I don’t get with any other product. It makes my hair look naturally healthy!

Both of these make my hair feel really good! Never for a moment I feel that there is a lot of product build up in my hair or anything!

Both of them have almost the same fragrance. It’s a herbal kindof scent, I really love the scent!

I use these rotating them with other products like the FE rose hair cleanser or my medicated shampoo which are also both sls free. This shampoo has some other forms of sulphates but it also has a lot of other natural ingredients. But I’m still looking for a replacement for the shampoo which is completely sulphate free. For now, I’m really happy with these !!

Price – The travel size ones that I have come for Rs.450 each for 75ml bottles.

And Rs.1390 for 250ml bottles. And the refill comes for Rs.1790 for 500ml.

And you can see details of prices in US here.

Overall, it’s a great range. I’m quite happy with these two and going to keep repurchasing this for now. I definitely recommend you to try if you have dry hair. The one and only drawback is the price. I might buy the more economical sizes of these the next time.

Rating – 9.5/10(only for the price)
