Know what is the secret behind the Pyramids

Pyramids are structures that appear to be great triangles. That's because they are formed with triangular surfaces. A pyramid may have 4 or 5 sides, since the base can be either square or triangular. The most familiar pyramids have a square base and 4 triangular sides that come together in a point at the top. Other pyramids have a flat top as roof. The pyramids are the stone tombs of Egypt's kings - the Pharaohs and one of the world's greatest historical mysteries. They have stood for thousands of years, filled with many hidden secrets: clues about what life (and death) was like in Ancient Egypt. The Egyptians believed that if the pharaoh's body could be mummified after death the pharaoh would live forever. The tombs were designed to protect the buried Pharaoh's body and his belongings. Most of the pyramids can be found on the western side of the Nile River, just into the dry desert. The dry desert heat worked to keep the Pharaohs's body and his belongings from decomposing and rotting away. The reason they built the pyramids next to the Nile River was so it would be easier to get the blocks to the pyramid. The stones could be bought nearer to the pyramid building site by boat. The pyramids we built by kings as tombs or memorials of themselves and it is thought that they were started at the beginning of each reign and that the height corresponded with the length of each reign. The pyramid of Cheops was originally 146 meters high and the technology for lifting the blocks into position was well designed.
