Summary:

It’s not easy being a Vampire Angel.

No one knows that better than Trond Sigurdsson. In the centuries since he last went out drinking and wenching with his Viking buds, Trond has been a gladiator, a cowboy, a ditch digger . . . even a sheik. But now he’s the baddest of them all: a kick-ass Navy SEAL kicking butts of terrorist immortals with the help of his hotter-than-Hades female partner, police officer-turned-Special Forces operative Nicole Tasso–whom Trond dearly hopes to “partner” with very shortly in a whole different way.

The “cop” part of Nicole tells her there’s something bizarre about her gorgeous godlike teammate. But her “all-woman” side can’t help wondering how great it would be to have a virile Viking in her bed. Trond has secrets galore, but Nicole feels certain she can dig them out–and really get to the heart of this powerful, unnerving stranger whom she may be risking her soul to love.

My Thoughts:

I really liked this book, and plan an getting the first in this series along with any others that come out. The humor in this book hit me just right, I found it to be quite funny. Nicole and Trond are characters who you would never expect to hit it off together. Of the seven deadly sins Trond is sloth, which of course gets you to ask what in the world is he doing attached to the Navy SEALS. After all they are anything but lazy and trying to avoid any and all work. But thankfully we see that while Trond will show his lazy tendencies when push comes to shove he is right there working like everyone else.  Nicole is a woman that stood up for herself and left an abusive husband, and walked away from her family who supported her husband over her. She went on and became a detective, like her father and ex, then went a step further and became a WEAL (a Woman SEAL). You have to admire anyone that strong who can accomplish that. She is one who is always working at bettering herself, listening to motivational messages –  one of the things that Trond really dislikes. So these two do not hit it off at all, inf act all they do is annoy each other. So it is nice to see the softer side of Trond emerge as he tries to help Nicole. The interactions are great between the two of them, along with Tronds brothers the other SEALS and archangel and a demon who’s really not so evil.

Over All Rating: 4/5 Stars
