If you missed the tree lighting ceremony at Rice Park yesterday, don't despair... St. Paul's Grand Meander next weekend on Saturday, December 7th is a great way to kick off the December holiday season and celebrate community, buy local and support our local fine artists. When you are done there, come downtown and check out the spectacular trees in St. Paul's Rice Park and Holiday Bazaar at Landmark Center across the street.

The daylong celebration along St. Paul's Grand Avenue includes breakfast with Santa, fire truck rides, Santa's reindeer, soup samplings and voting for the People's Choice Winner, musicians meadering the avenue and the annual tree lighting ceremony at 5:00. Also wander the streets of Tangletown and experience open studios of local artists. Click here for Grand Meander event details.

ART AT RAMSEY, a Juried Holiday Art Fair of quality fine crafts and fine art, is held in conjunction with Grand Meander at Ramsey Junior High, 1700 Summit Avenue, St. Paul 55105.

The 19th Annual ART AT RAMSEY features 75 juried local artists and is open from 10 to 5. The Annual Youth Art Fair with local young artists ages 10-18 will also be held at Ramsey that day.

There will be everything from leather handbags and belts, watercolor paintings, silver and gold jewelry, baskets, and steel sculpture to woven scarves, dolls, fused glass pendants, woodcut prints, unique hand-dyed silk apparel, hand-carved wooden birds, mosaics, hand-woven rugs, hats, turned wood, original cards, hand-blown glass bowls, plus pottery tiles, vases, bowls, teapots and cups, and also Hmong needle work and holiday ornaments.
