K+BB just announced the winners of the 2014 Design Award competition. Each year, we get to see some of the best designs from around the home. After a total of 55 submissions, the best designs were chosen and the names have now been released. We’re going to focus on those recognized for their outstanding bathroom projects.
The 2014 K+BB Bathroom of the Year Award Goes to…
Design Studio 15, Keesee and Associates and William Edward Construction
Who: Design was made for a Walt Disney Executive and his wife. Located in Winter Park, Florida
Requests: Unique, modern, and luxurious.
Key Features: Large closet, steam shower & sauna, creative storage and organization, ample lighting choices, private water closet, a Jacuzzi, and a unique ceiling.

Accent Cabinets and Keith Blair & Associates
Requests: Complaint that the shower was too small and that the bathtub was never used. This was discussed and we found that the majority of homeowners are opting to keep their bathtub although this preference could change shortly. The homeowners of this project also mentioned that they wanted to make their bathroom feel bigger.
Key Features: Completely gutted the bathroom and the close to create a luxury spa retreat.

Suzanne Lasky of S Interior Design
Who: Built for a younger couple that wanted something contemporary, unique, and functional.
Requests: They wanted it to reflect their personal taste. As it was, their master bathroom was small, having only a stand-up shower and a small bathtub with as a divider wall. Yes, you get the picture; it was economical to say the least.
Key Features: Custom floating vanities with rift-cut oak stained in a rich, dark brown finish. This vanity has a secret to tell. Tucked away out of site are hidden outlets to help keep you from getting tangled up in your blow dryer and straightener cords. Can you say functional!
