It's all about karma that define my fate in this life and the ones to come. While reading this wonderful book Karma Sutra: Cracking the Karmic Code by Hingori, many thoughtful ideas flashed in my mind since of which I was able to crack and some couldn't. Like

How much do I focus on my Karma?

  • Do I actually understand the difference between good karma and bad karma?
  • How much time do I spare out of my routine to do good karma?
  • Do I really identify the powers within?
  • Do I understand good karma will strengthen those powers and bad karma will weaken those?
  • Do I know every minute the balance sheet of my Karma gets updated?
  • Do I have faith and belief in spiritual existence?
  • Do I realize this existence of a spiritual self and do I work regularly for its evolution and growth?
  • Do I understand that the spiritual self in me is same as spiritual in you?

While reading Karma Sutra: Cracking the Karmic Code by Hingori, an immediate thought that comes to mind is Self is a part of Supreme Consciousness and is Omnipresent. The chapters are full of wisdom and are helpful in getting closer to inner self, supreme power of the universe, and my consciousness. Once I inculcate faith and belief in a spiritual existence, I realize that I am a part of it and this spiritual self within me needs a consistent evolution and growth. Then comes a point of realization that my spiritual self is well connected to your spiritual self. We all are just dots and the bigger picture is the universe itself. That is supreme consciousness which is Omnipresent and that handles every life on the earth. When I die, that spiritual self in me still stays awake and full of life, becomes back the part of the whole leaving my identity behind.

Karma Sutra: Cracking the Karmic Code by Hingori is a special book of life to understand life and self, and the connecting dots between the two. This is not the book that can be read just once and understand completely. It needs rereading multiple times. This is my understating of KARMA from this fabulous book. Karma is the action I perform. Any action performed by my body, mind, senses, spirit, and intellect add to my Karma. Not performing an action is also karma. These karma are either voluntary or involuntary. Karma happen at every level of consciousness viz conscious, subconscious, and unconscious. I am solely responsible for all my Karma. All my voluntary karma based on my intent get categorized as good or bad thus forming the balance sheet of my individual being. That balance sheet keeps getting updated along with every act of mine. It is that balance sheet that decides my future destiny.

There are different kinds of Karma that one performs. These various kinds are well differentiated and explained in Karma Sutra: Cracking the Karmic Code by Hingori. Indian ancient wisdom categorizes human karma into three main categories -

Kriyaman

Sanchit

Parabdh

There's a clearcut distinction among these three kinds of Karma. Kriyaman Karma is our current life Karma. So whatever I am doing in present, or have done in the past since birth, or will be doing in future till my death comes under Kriyaman Karma. It's very important to understand that Kriyaman Karma only includes only my mundane and insignificant acts. These karma do not at to my Karma balance sheet. These get squared off, nullified, and neutralised by means of action and reaction.

Let's see what Sanchit Karma is according to Karma Sutra: Cracking the Karmic Code by Hingori. These are the karmas that add to my Karma balance sheet which in turn decide my destiny and fate in this life and after life. Unlike financial balance sheets where debit and credit, or, profit and loss, or, asset and liability, sum up to finally produce a net value that is either negative or positive. In this case, each negative and positive karma stays as it is defining its corresponding impact. The impact might not come in the same sequence. That sequence is controlled by our stars and luck. That's how our life is a mix of joys and sorrows, happiness and sadness, good and bad results.

Overall, Karma Sutra: Cracking the Karmic Code by Hingori is an interesting, introspective, intriguing, well explained, simple to read and understand, with excellingly fitting relevance of the illustrations every few pages.
