J.W.Anderson @ Topshop

By Britishcouture
Irish born designer J.W.Anderson's collection has just arrived at Topshop and will unquestionably get the heads turning and the jaws dropping. Get your bit of plastic at the ready, because I can guarantee they'll be something you want from the collection, but don't wait too long, as it's proving to be popular, with only a few sizes left in some lines. What's great is that over the years designer collections have become readily available in the top high street stores, this way people feel that they can grab a piece of designer quality at their usual place of shop, without feeling like its out of their price range.
Anderson's collaboration provides a variety of simple classic pieces branded with his iconic anchor logo, popular designs & styles with Anderson's own twist, quirky and unique pattern prints and cute paisley quilted tops.

After browsing through the collection I pulled out a few of my personal favourites to share:

J.W.Anderson @ Topshop

**Embroidered Cotton Shirt by J.W.Anderson for Topshop £39.99
**Mini Mart Camera by J.W.Anderson for Topshop £9.99
**Stripe Print iPhone Case by J.W.Anderson for Topshop £7.99
**Breton Stripe Jumper by J.W.Anderson for Topshop £49.99
**V-Neck School Sweater by J.W.Anderson for Topshop £49.99
**Slap Band by J.W.Anderson for Topshop £1.99
**Zebra Print Jeans by J.W.Anderson for Topshop £49.99

The majority of the lines I picked out are classic styles and colours, and there's a definite nautical theme going on here, especially with his added anchor logo on the sweater and shirt. The nautical stripes are back in again this Autumn/Winter, however J.W.Anderson has done a dark green stripe (which I opted for), and the traditional navy. I would most likely wear the cotton shirt under the V-Neck School Sweater and pair it with some skinny jeans. The zebra jeans are pretty funky and would have to be a statement, so I would wear a plain top, to allow for the print to speak for itself. On the other hand you can just buy one of his non-clothing items, such as the retro disposable camera, the iPhone case, slap band (more colours available), or the posters which are also online.
Overall the collection definitely features some interesting and unique pieces, but also some timeless classics that will see you through the seasons. See the full collection online here
What do you think of the collection? Do you buy from the designer collection on offer on the high street or do you stick with the high street labels?
