Juice Recipe

An natural energy boost: freshly pressed Apple + Pear + Ginger + Honey + Cinnamon Juice.

Kudos to my husband, who planned two really fun-filled weekends out of town for my 28th Birthday. The first weekend we spent in Milwaukee, a city we haven’t really discovered yet despite living so close to it. On Friday night we went to a show at the Comedy Cafe and on Saturday morning we checked out the Public Market. It was there that I discovered Apple + Pear + Ginger + Honey + Cinnamon Juice and I couldn’t wait to get home and try to recreate the recipe.

Using your juicer (I have & love the Breville Juice Fountain), juice 2 pears, 2 apples (I prefer Braeburn for this concoction) and a 2-inch chunk of ginger. When the juice is finished, dump it into a martini shaker (without ice), drizzle the teaspoon of honey into it and top with a dash of cinnamon. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds and then serve over ice. This will make about 16-20 ounces, so it can easily be split into two servings.

Some of the benefits of this juice are a natural rush of energy (from the honey), loads of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants (from the fruit), increased immunity (from the ginger), and a gentle detox effect (from the cinnamon).
