Shield Ring ($342) in oxidized sterling silver from Sophie HughesJust got this ferocious new silver stunner from my friend - and fave Boston-based designer, Sophie Hughes. I love how smooth the interior of the ring is - imagine the inside of a conch shell - and how it warms up and almost seems to mold to your finger as you wear it. The ombre fade patina finish is to jewelry what ombre fade is to hair - an effortless and impossibly cool way to incorporate dimension and just the right amount of edge. This is no delicate, subtle adornment, but it's molded so perfectly that I'm typing with it on right now - no wonder SHJ calls her jewelry 24 hour pieces!
