Month-end prevented me from reading more than I normally do, plus the books I was reading were not ones easily devoured.

" data-orig-size="263,400" sizes="(max-width: 197px) 100vw, 197px" aperture="aperture" />Joe Hart’s latest novel is intense, and I loved every minute of it. With its story of space travel, a mysterious dementia disease, conspiracies, and lots and lots of secrets, it had the feel of a horror novel at times. If his other novels are equally scary and good, I will most definitely have to look into reading them.
Araminta Hall’s debut novel is infuriating but in a good way. I will admit to being a bit confused by the story until the very end when I realized her point. Then my feminist blood started to boil, as her story hit home. I suspect my reaction will be a common one.
Julia Heaberlin’s novel is one that I contemplated DNFing multiple times. It is not that the story is a bad one but rather it is so. damn. slow. Almost all of it occurs inside the protagonist’s head, so there is not much in the way of action. Still, it has a way of getting under your skin, enticing you to keep reading.
