However, the books I read were good ones, so the week was not a total loss.

There is so much to it that I could see it being a fantastic book club selection. Between the Neverworld, the mystery, the group dynamics, the boarding school, life and death, and wealth’s privileges, the discussions one could have are endless. I was thoroughly engrossed by the story and cannot stop thinking about what Ms. Pessl has to say about living. I hope others pick this one up to read and love it as much as I did.
Molly Harper is a comfort read, and I adore the McCready family. Enough said.
I have heard some rather negative things about Sarah Pekkanen’s latest novel. However, I really liked it. Its subject is not an easy one, by any means, but I like how honest she is about marriages and life. The fact of the matter is that marriage is hard, and when you have children and have been together for a while, it is so easy to stop seeing your partner. I like how she does not excuse adultery, but I like how she tackles this very sticky subject. It made me think about the state of my own marriage; any time a book affords you an opportunity to reflect on your own life makes said book a good one in my mind.
