Obligatory new season togs. At Somerset House.
Autumn this year arrived slowly and then all at once, it seems. After a deliciously warm summer and dreamy long evenings spent out on the balcony or at various beer gardens, I’ve been waiting in anticipation to break out my autumn wardrobe; my favorite sort. It’s funny, really, because I wait all year round for autumn/winter dressing… and then spend much of the season indoors, enjoying the sheer cosiness of it all, pretending I’m not in when strangers come calling.

This burgundy skirt (faux suede) has been in my stocks since October of last year and I still adore it. I’m always looking for an excuse to wear it! This time I paired it with my new stripe cuff jumper, a sweet nod to Gucci, for what turned out to be the final bare-legged day out.

During the very last weekend of September, the girls and I headed out to Shackfuyu (one of our clan’s favourites!) to celebrate Lily’s birthday with a boozy brunch. I didn’t snap many photos, instead choosing to fill my face with food, but let me assure you that it was absolutely incredible and I certainly had more than my £35 worth of bottomless prosecco. Magical. We eked out an entire Sunday afternoon with catch-ups (crazy how many topics there are to cover when you’ve not seen one another in just a handful of days! We lead fairly unassuming lives, for the most part!), laughs, musings about birthdays and twenty-something life and each looked forward to fun events anew for the season.
