January Glam Bag

Ipsy rarely disappoints me.  The last two Glam Bags have been ridiculously amazing, but was this one?…

Nourish Organic, Face Lotion (Argan Rosewater)

Organic Lotion

I love a good face lotion, but this wasn’t good.  The lotion itself was extremely thin, and slightly watery.  I wasn’t too keen on the scent either, I did get hints of argan oil but no rosewater at all… it kind of smelled like an orange peel that was sitting in my trash for 6 hours.  The sample was a nice size, the packaging was cute, I just wasn’t down with it.

Faith Aromatherapy, Tahitian Monoi Sugar Scrub

Sugar Scrub

Don’t get me wrong, J’adore a body scrub… but samples make me sad because they’re sooo little.  This jar had enough scrub for me to use on my entire body during one measly shower.  Aside from that, I did like the scrub.  It wasn’t too rough, and it felt good on my skin.  The body scrub didn’t really smell like anything in the pot, but it smelled light and citrusy once you put it on.  My epidermis felt sickening after using this.

Sexyhair, Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner

Leave In Conditioner

I like anything from this brand, especially things in blue bottles.  I believe the blue bottles are all healthy sexy hair products, and they tend to involve soy (but I haven’t done any research or anything).  I’ve liked other things that I’ve tried from this line, so I figured I’d like this too.  I was right.  It smelled clean, and made my hair super soft.  I’ll def use it up, but I’m not much of a leave in condish person… unless it’s summer.

Mica Beauty Cosmetics, Tinted Lip Balm (#5 Natural)

Natural Lips

At first glance I liked this.  I like natural lips, and the color seemed spot on.  Then when I put it on, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it.  No tea no shade, but it made me look a little trailer park.  I felt like I was wearing dark lip liner all over my lips.  I tried it twice, and still had the same feeling.  I think I like it when I’m wearing sunglasses.  I like the consistency, and the color isn’t bad… I’m just too damn pale for it.

Elizabeth Mott, Smooth Shadow (Penny)

Bronze Eyeliner

You have no idea how excited I was to get eyeliner that wasn’t black.  I’m obsessed with this color.  It’s gone with the wind fabulous.  The shade is a nice coppery bronze, and it’s perfect for daytime smokey eye realness.  The texture is perfection, I would totally buy this.

The Verdict

Ehhh.  I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it.  I’d rather spend $10 on this Glam Bag than the following:

  • 4 Steele Reserve 40′s
  • A cropped tee on clearance from Victoria’s Secret
  • 2 New York Strips on sale at Giant for $5 per strip
  • Dry cleaning

Better luck next month.
