Intrigued by the above abbreviation? And no, I’m not talking about the Apple operating system. This ‘IoS’ appeared on a holiday I went on last year. It adorned the hats, sweaters, bags and more of many of those whom we encountered on our trip.
If I tell you where we were on the Scilly Isles, then you might be able to guess….?
Yes, it turns out you are supposed to refer to this illustrious destination as the Isles of Scilly, hence IoS. When we went, we were particularly fortunate with the weather. Though it was late October, it was still mild and sunny. We came back with tans and managed several swims in the sea, albeit taking a good three to four hours to warm up afterwards. We wandered amid palm trees and bright colours.
Our views out onto sea and sand were against a backdrop of blue skies (mostly), setting off the rocks and foam from the waves nicely.
And I haven’t got started talking about birds we saw…But perhaps you might prefer some beach pics instead?
