Half Life 2 gamers would definitely remember the name Insurgency as it first landed online as a free mod for Half Life 2. Now the game has has received a face-bump and landed on Steam as a stand-alone  first-person team-based shooter. The game supports up to 32 players and seems to have some cool Half Life-like graphics and gameplay.

This new video released for the game, shows off its’ gameplay and some of the team actions, bringing back memories from Half Life. Insurgency was also made based on the total conversion for Half-Life 2 – Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat and has basically the same combat mode, except for few modifications.

“This game is in Alpha and still has ways to go, but we believe we have created a strong, intense multiplayer gaming experience that in many ways defies what people have come to expect from FPS games. We believe that by getting people in on the action now, we will be able to shape this game with our community into a truly distinct and cerebral FPS experience.” Developers of the game stated.

Insurgency works for Windows PC, Mac OS X and coming soon for Linux. It’s now on Steam for $15. Check out the screenshots and the video for a closer look.
