Both of these work very well for me and I find them equally effective. For those that are interested in cleansing brushes, but are hesitant and don't want to spend a ton of cash, this will be helpful. I am going to go through the pros and cons of each one so you can make an educated decision on which one might be best for you. I am going to start with the Instrumental Beauty one because I use it a lot more and even though I like both, I prefer it.
The Instrumental Beauty Sonic Cleansing System has the same concept as the Foreo Luna 2. I have't tried any of Foreo's products, so I can't make any comparisons between the two. The idea behind this system is that the pulsating movements help remove all of the dirt and oil out of your pores, making it more effective than just using your hands. It is also more gentle than most face scrubs out there, although I still use one once a week just to really remove any dead skin cells. The silicone makes it much more hygienic than other brushes because it doesn't harbor any bacteria. You also don't have to worry about spending extra money to replace brush heads, or even batteries for that matter. This brush comes with a USB cord for charging, but you do have to have something to plug it into. I use the little block I have for my iPhone. It does charge up pretty fast, but the charge on mine lasts about a week. I have heard other people say it lasts longer, but it all depends on how you use it. I mostly use it only at night, but sometimes I will use it in the morning. It is safe to use twice a day if you need to. Another great thing about this system is that it has two sides. One side is for gentle cleansing and the other is for an exfoliating, deeper clean. There are two speeds, but I can't tell too much of a difference. This is a great system and I have seen a difference since using it. It is small, so it is great for travel. The best part? It is $35 at Rite Aid.
Ulta's Dual Cleansing System is more like the Clarisonic, but far less abrasive. My skin responded well to this and didn't break out and become sensitive like it did with the Clarisonic. The goal of this product is the same as all of the others: remove dirt, oil, and makeup more effectively from your pores than just using your hands. The brush for this system is unique in that is gentle enough to use with all cleansers and even scrubs. With most brushes, you are limited in what you can use with it, as in certain cleansers are too strong to be paired with it. Ulta's cleansing system also comes with a foam pad that can be used to apply moisturizer. I haven't used this yet, but it helps your moisturizer reach the deeper layers of your skin. Plus there is a lot of hype about facial massages. This device is a little more abrasive than the Instrumental Beauty Sonic Touch Cleansing System, but it is still gentle enough for sensitive skin. It does a fantastic job of really cleaning out your pores without causing any kind of irritation. It does require batteries and you need to replace the brush heads every few months. The good news is that a pack of two brush heads is only $8. You can also use Ulta's $3.50 off $15 coupon towards them and sometimes they put their skincare items on sale. Including the system itself, which is only $25.
These are both great, affordable options. I prefer the Instrumental Beauty Sonic Touch because it is more hygienic and I don't have to fool with buying replacement heads. I would recommend it for more sensitive skin. If your skin is a little more tough and acne prone (but still on the sensitive side), I would go for the Ulta one. Just keep in mind that one does require batteries and you will need to replace the brush heads.
With these two, it mainly comes down to personal preference. Like I said, they are great budget friendly options if you are looking to take to your skincare routine up a notch.
