American brand looks all set to flood Indian markets with a wide variety of gadgets. It's been less than six months since InFocus launched their highly popular in India. Since then, they are launching newer smartphones in India with great rapidity. And recently, by launching a whole line of products, InFocus has made it clear that their plans for India are big and involve more than just smartphones.

On 28, July, 2015, InFocus launched four new smartphones, three feature phones, UHD & FHD/HD LED TVs ranging in size from 70" to 24" and a two-in-one tablet.

Speaking at the event, Sachin Thapar, Country Head InFocus India asserted, "Our mission for InFocus in India is as bold as it is simple: InFocus is determined to enrich the lives of all Indians by pushing the boundaries of technology and design innovation and providing quality consumers can trust. With the help of strategic partners such as Foxconn and SuperD, we will revolutionise the mobile communication, electronics and visual display markets in India with our fantastic portfolio, and undoubtedly reach $1 billion by the end of 2016."

Out of all the products launched, the products that sounded most exciting to me were the tablet which could become a laptop and the four smartphones.

The 2-in-1 hybrid tablet has 10.6" FHD touch display and also a detachable magnetic keyboard which can easily convert it into a laptop.

One of the most exciting of the smartphones that were launched is InFocus M550-3D. The highlight of this device is that it is equipped with naked eye 3D technology. That is, you can view 3D content on it without the 3D glasses. Not that there is much free 3D content available as yet. But whatever you can download, you can enjoy its 3D effects on this smartphone's display without wearing any special glasses. Best of all, this phone also allows users to click the pictures in 3D. I'm sure many users would love having the capability of clicking their pictures in 3D. As for the specifications, M550-3D is equipped with MediaTek MT6752 1.7GHz Octa-Core Processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM (expandable to 64 GB). It is powered by 3,100 mAh Removable batter. It has 13MP BSI Auto Focus primary camera with Flash LED. In the front, it has not one but two different cameras. Both are 5MP. One of them has 80〫Wide-Angle Fixed Focus and the other has Fixed Focus with IR Face Detection & IR LED. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 159.9 x 78.5 x 9.63 mm and weighs 194 g. The display is 5.5" 3D Full HD (1920 x 1080) w/capacitive touch. The operating system is 4.4 KitKat which might sound disappointing to users. The device has 2G/3G/LTE (TDD & FDD). It costs 15,999 INR.

M808 also has anodized aluminum unibody and looks quite cool. It is equipped with MediaTek MT6753 64-bit Octa-Core 1.3GHz, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM (Expandable to 128GB). The device has 2,450 mAh (Non-Removable) battery. Its primary camera is 13MP BSI Auto Focus and the secondary camera is 5MP Fixed Focus. The OS is Android Lollipop 5.1. This device too has 2G/3G/LTE (TDD & FDD) capabilities. The display is 5.2" Full HD (1920 x 1080) and the smartphone measures 147.7 x 73.2 x 7.56 mm and weighs 155 g. It costs 12,999 INR.

InFocus also announced three feature phones. These are InFocus F110 (1.77" display), F120 (2.4" display) and F135 (2.8" display) for those who don't yet want to splurge on a smartphone.

Considering the long line of products that were launched by InFocus in one single day, it is clear that they have big plans for India. What I like about the InFocus smartphones that I have tried is that they seem to have sturdy build quality. And they look good too. And of course, InFocus smartphones are very competitively priced. The software features, appearance of the widgets and utility apps like calendar can use some makeover though. And a little less bloatware of third-party apps would be greatly welcome.

The naked eye 3D watching capability of M550-3D is exciting. And as I saw it with my own eyes, I can say that the 3D effects really work. However, there's a limited availability of 3D content and most of it won't be free. But the ability of clicking 3D photos would sure delight users. Leaving this 3D magic aside, InFocus M812 offers a better set of specifications and looks nice too.

All in all, quite an impressive line-up of new products by InFocus. Not all of these products would be available in the market at once though. Most of them can be expected to start rolling out starting from September.
