Could you tell us what are some of the rarest fancy coloured diamonds owned by famous people?

I know many famous people that have coloured diamonds since it is trending at the moment.

Some famous names includes Elizabeth Taylor who owned yellow diamonds,

Heidi Klum who has yellow engagement ring and Pharrel Williams who has a 15 carat yellow ring.

Also Halle Berry has coloured diamonds, she owns a rare orange diamond. Jennifer Lopez owns pink and blue ones, Barbara Streisand has a pink diamond and Carrie owns a black engagement ring. These are only a couple names, but there sure are more fancy rare coloured diamonds owned by famous people.

Q: What are the things to look for when choosing fancy coloured diamonds?

Mainly focus on the colour which I mean the original colour.

Try to avoid mixed colours. The value is in the main colour. A purplish pink diamond can look very unique but diamonds with main colour are more valuable. So remember a diamond colour on itself is more valuable. So pink is rarer and more expensive than purplish pink.

Remember to focus on one single colour.

Q: Are fancy coloured diamonds great for investment?

Absolutely yes! In the last 5 years you can see big changes in the auction houses. Almost in every auction there will be a coloured diamond.

In addition you see that the prices of coloured diamonds are rising every year!

Last time a pink coloured diamond just broke record in its selling price.

Around 8 years ago we sold a fancy intense pink diamond to a lucky customer for 8 million USD and now it is offered 25 million! Is that a good investment ? You bet!

Q: You personal favourite?

Blue because it's very rare.

Q: What kind of fancy coloured diamonds go well with antique inspired design?

Blue diamond is perfect for antique inspired design because it is a royal colour.

Q: Any tips for brides looking to design their own unique diamond rings?

Look around, open your eyes and see what is available on the market. It is not necessary to take what you see.

But looking around is beneficial since you can get inspiration of different ring designs. When you have been inspired by many different designs on the market you can create a unique diamond ring yourself together with your jeweler. In this way you can combine the styles you like and be able to create a unique coloured diamond ring that will touch your heart.

Q: Tips for the gentlemen who want to impress their other halves with the right diamond rings? Any personal experience to share?

A diamond is never too big!

Never too big if you can afford. A woman will never say this diamond makes her look fat. No one said it ever!

Q: For buyers in Australia, how can they get diamonds evaluated? Can they get insurance cover with diamonds bought online and overseas?

Absolutely yes. With a GIA certificate, laser inscription on the diamond and with the beautiful picture you can be ensured that your diamond can be evaluated anywhere in the world regardless of where it was purchased.
